Recently, 2024 Sea of Japan earthquake（the Reiwa 6 Noto Peninsula Earthquake） has significantly affected many areas, including Niigata’s Nishi Ward, where I reside. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt sympathies to everyone affected by this disaster.
Fortunately, I personally did not suffer any physical harm, but many individuals in my community and those I am closely connected with have been significantly impacted by this earthquake.
The earthquake has also damaged infrastructure, causing some disruptions to our daily lives. Particularly, delays in postal and delivery services are highly likely under these circumstances.
Furthermore, journalistic and filming activities in Nishi Ward of Niigata have been greatly affected. For the next one to four weeks, it is expected to be challenging to undertake these activities, especially in certain areas of the Nishi Ward.
During these challenging times, I believe it’s crucial to show compassion and support for one another. I kindly ask for your understanding and support.
Finally, I would like to reiterate my deep condolences to all those affected by the earthquake and express my sincere hopes for a swift recovery.
